
In light of the growing smog situation, the Punjab government has imposed a health emergency in the districts of Lahore and Multan.
In Lahore and Multan:
▪️ All colleges and universities will transition to online classes.
▪️ A complete ban on construction activities for one week starting tomorrow.
▪️ A complete ban on the entry of heavy transport.
▪️ Brick kilns and factories running on furnace oil will be closed.
▪️ Restaurants will remain open until 4 PM, and takeaways will be allowed until 8 PM.
In addition to Murree, schools will remain closed for one more week in Dera Ghazi Khan, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, and Rawalpindi divisions.
The notification was issued by Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, Director General of the Punjab Environment Protection Agency.
